According to records in BugGuide, I see a lot of pictures from Texas of young caterpillars in August, and big cats in September and later. So what you have here is the first generation for this season. The adult should come out in... a bit under a month?
I am not sure of your dirt set up. But you will want to keep it damp, not wet. Quiet. But also provide a way for the moth to crawl UP and to hang once it comes out.
