Eagle on the Mississippi Ice

This Bald Headed Eagle was resting on these chunks of ice on the Mississippi River at Moline, Illinois, in December of 2010. Taken from approx. 50 yards away.

In Alton, Illinois (as I remember, it is where the Ohio River comes into the Mississippi) in February of 1997 I remember watching a bald eagle ride the ice floes down the river, looking for fish. When he got near the dam there, he would fly back upstream and pick another floe, riding downstream again.
