Banff, Alberta, Canada (city scenes)

In 2013 I took a rail tour of Canada and one of the locations visited was Banff in Alberta. Although I previously posted a Set of the St. George's in the Pines church (https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-661667-1.html), apparently I never got around to posting photos of the city itself, and other attractions nearby. This Set is of scenes in the city--I will post others covering local scenery.

That's about all I have on the town itself.

I think the one where the canoe being towed along the street is really neat. David, are you a fly fisherman or do you have a brother who is one? I think his name is Paul.

Thank you for the tour. Glad they still allow horses in town.

I just remembered that his name is Castell, wrong family.

cliff, I am not a fly fisherman and don't have a brother. FWIW, "Castell" is one of the several spelling of my surname, so it's possible Paul and I are distantly related. I'm assuming since you know of him that he must be located near Plano, Texas. Do you know about how old he is? Glad you liked the photo.

UTMike, nice to see you, and thanks for the compliment!

NMGal, you're welcome, and thanks for the nice comment.

Longshadow, I appreciate your comment!

He lives somewhere in the hill country and he’s in his 50s or 60s. I didn’t know him well, just through a fly fishing website that we participated in several years ago. He was a fly fishing guide down in the hill country.

Banff area abounds in everything a camera is meant for. Hope you got to see Canmore, Johnson's Canyon(only 1/2 hr away) a rare beauty as well. I visit my son often, who lives there, and my camera is always with me. I am a proud Canadian, and love to see our American friends up here.

Hi, camshot, don't think we've met before. I'm not sure about Johnson's Canyon, we went to so many places. I enjoyed my visit to Canada very much.

DougS, thanks for coming and the nice comment. You're welcome--I like to share.

There's a great music festival there during the summer.

Thank you for that information. I'm not likely to be back there, though.
