So my learned friends. Help with a decision
I currently have two cameras both of which I am pleased with but...you know..gas is not always a friend.
Currently have a Nikon D-500 with the Holy Trinity (10-24, 24-70, 70-200 and a Sigma 60-600(my regular workhorse.
The second Camera is a Sony A7R III with kit lenses and a comlite adapter for using the Nikon glass. Two bodies, two bags, different batteries and chargers, filters, flash, etc.
I'm tempted to sell it all and purchase a Sony AR7V with a couple of lenses and use only one system for all.
Expensive....YES, but cool new toys are always tempting.
Your thoughts. I mainly do wildlife, landscapes etc.

You already have your answer...the A7RV is the best landscape body in the world right now.
Love it! I will use that line instead of my less colorful metaphor.
Do it and tell everyone that you just went on a SKI (Spend the Kids' Inheritance) trip.
Another not-to-be forgotten quip…great day for UHH!👏🤦

I agree! I have a friend who say his dieing wish is that as he lays on his deathbed, his banker shows up to tell him he is overdrawn.
As near as I can tell, my dad actually did that. There is a family story that my uncle paid the bank off for $10K. It was done quietly and all are dead now so I don't know for sure.
I totally agree with the notion of going to one system. I finally left Nikon after trying to maintain two completely different systems, and stayed with my Olympus m4/3 stuff.
I won't try to sell you on any particular system, but I strongly urge you to look into mirrorless. I also like having two identical bodies, with a dedicated long lens on one for wildlife, and a shorter whatever for landscapes etc. on the other.
It makes life so much simpler.
Let there be no doubt! You most certainly have a serious case of GAS! Enjoy!!

The Sony A7RV has top of the line eye-animal focus, so you would be making your life that much easier! Every time I upgrade I am amazed at how much "horsepower" the new body has. In this case, upgrading from using an A7Rlll to an A7RV will be like going from a Volkswagen to a Ferrari!
Go for the freedom of one bag!

You seem to have a pretty hood stable of cameras & lenses. I am surprised you are getting rid of the Nikon d500 with its assortment of lenses. I have the d7500 ( junior version of the d500) & am really happy with it.if I could fit it into my limited budget would get a d500 to go with it. Maybe someday. But, if you can afford the newer Sony, go for it…
Buy the Nikon Z8 and use all of your current lenses with an adapter until you decide to convert to Z lenses.

Heh...or he could just buy the Sony and have access to the largest selection of glass on the planet.
Excellent article in Saturday's WSJ by sportswriter Jason Gay that relates to GAS discussions. Article was about sports gear but relates. Said he was a gearaholic; I thought I was one buy away from greatness; it took me years to realize that I was the technology that mattered, and my tech is flawed. Having said all this, even though I own a Sony A7Riv and a RX 100 VI, I may buy a Leica Q3. GAS attack and I'm encouraged that several Hoggers were non judgmental recently and encouraged the op. If you can afford it go for it.
