Not flashy, not even pretty, but I can say I'm happy with this.
Black and White. HA7nm filter only. 20 images aligned and stacked.
I did lighten it in Photo Shop. But I liked how it came out with just the Hydrogen Alpha filter.
No others used.

Thank You.
I can't process for beans.
But my monorial camera takes decent B&W images.
I kinda like the b&w. Reminds me of my teenage years, Yasika MAT 124 twin reflex, with 120 film.

Nice shot of the Lagoon Nebula SonnyE.

Thank You Ballard!
It's 20 - 300 second (5minute) exposures.
I just thought it looked so cool on the screen that I decided to align and stack the HA alone.

Hi SonnyE

The Ha frequently has a lot of texture in the nebula. I just sent out some image of M17 and included a stacked Ha image. I also played with using the Ha image for the luminance and or red channel.

Nice, better than the ones I've managed to get. I like the mono version, because it resembles how we would see it through a scope.

Me too.
I can't hold my eye open for 5 minutes to gather the color.

The mono camera does gather more detail than I could using color camera's, by far.
And the 130mm telescope brings the object right to the sensor.

How have you been?
I'm continuing to fall apart. But I refuse to quit.

Ditto on your last sentence. I'm now in an area of Arizona that doesn't understand light pollution. I just got a new RF lens I'm anxious to try out on astro work. I'm unable to lift the C11s and 14s anymore, so I've downsized drastically to Mirrorless camera on a iOptron Skyguider mount. Now to just get out in these midnight 100deg temps.

Great Ha image but I think you've still got a fair bit of nebulosity hiding in the surrounding regions?

Probably, because this is only HA7nm filtered alone. So kinda one spectrum.
I just was thrilled with the detail the HA drew out of it.
Still swatting at the processing thing.
Meanwhile, I'm enjoying filling thumb drives with data files.

The other night NINA popped open its Meridian flip window. So I wondered out to see what it was doing.
Nothing. Just setting there. But instead of fiddling with it I went over to pee on the lawn.
Suddenly, it began doing the flip and I got to watch the whole automated show. So I sat and watched my little laptop screen while NINA did it work through.
The only thing funky was the image came up 180° out. So I rotated it in the computer, and it gathered the post-meridian images in the correct orientation.
Fun to actually see.

But last night I was watching and waiting and it did not do anything. (Eagle Nebula)
So I stopped NINA, parked the mount at Counter Weight Down, then reinitiated NINA. It came back flipped and seemingly perfectly aimed. I left it to do it's thing and went to bed.
Got up to it being done (Parked), but the HA files were unusable. So tonight I'll do narrowband and some darks and bias files and see what I get.

Today I've been dabbling into color tinting, and stacking the files to play with that.
But alas, it's my nap time.

Yeah, I have a hernia operation coming up. So I have my telescope mounted and covering it with a big BBQ cover and a patio umbrella over it to help keep the direct sun from melting it.
I really need an observatory.
Our nights are staying warmer and warmer. But getting clear skies right now. So mining Photons as much as I can.

I still have the Condoland behind me with their damnedable LED security lighting. So I can't see the stars much, but my camera can poke through it.
And enjoying the rise of Nebula Season. Galaxy Season is OK, I use it to work out operations and mount controls. But my passion remains with Nebula.

Here you go Brian.
I did a little contrast and brightness adjusting.
Then cropped off a thin line above and below.
Maybe it brought out more?

The 20K constraints for posting tend to pinch our results a bit, IMHO. (In My Honest Opinion)

Photoshop Elements 12 used. (Hey, I own it. I guess that makes me "Old School", or a pinched turd. )

Same picture, adjusted in more contrast and tweaked the brightness.

My daughter's favorite camera/film combo is a Rolleicord with 120 B&W film. I just bought her a Mamiya so she might go with that instead.

Keep it up beats the crap out of an OSC, you'll be surprised Sonny "HOW MUCH YOU CAN TWEAK OUT", I haven't been able to catch the lagoon nebula. I caught a 6min. sub of the Omega in 9-2022 and it'll take several years to gather enough data for that one. I'll give it ago if this darn wildfire smoke would ever leave and go back to Canada. Totally clouded over and the smell is unpleasant. I just received my new guide camera and I've been cursed again.
