I needed a short vacation and went to Georgia.
I was close in on these shots and the distortion was terrible. Spent close to an hour in Photomatix to get them the way I liked and correcting in Photoshop.

I shoot in RAW and basic JPG so I can quickly preview them in the picture and fax viewer.
These are the JPG versions because for some reason I could not get the RAW to look just like these, probably some processing done on the camera.

I should have moved slightly to the side so that the one door peeking through would have dissapeared.

I used to live on St. Simon Isl. which is very close to Jekyll, have seen where you took these shots and you did it justice. Thank for bringing back some great memories. When I was young I spent a lot of time on Jekyll.

Thank you all for the comments, I like 3 but I forgot to get rid of the black line coming down from the ceiling.
Still trying to figure out what it is.

You really do have a great eye for an angle, these are three very well thought out shots. Its interesting looking at how your work has evolved. I know you like HDR that pushes the boundaries but these three shots seem just a little reined back compared to some of your previous work and I think the result is a really nice balance. So my starting point is that I really like all three pics though its a toss up between 2 and 3 as to my fav. But a couple of suggestions. In 2 you have clearly aimed to get the verticals and perspective correct, however the chimney on the far right roof is leaning in slightly, a little tweek with the warp tool in PS will fix that. But if you zoom into the area over the top of the chimney you will see that something has gone wrong with the processing as there are some strange blank sections and half a missing lightglobe, Could be alignment problems, don't know, its not something I recognise. I have to say I really like the way you have handled the balance of light, you have brought out so many details and still retained the sense that its a bright sunny day. Actually I have decided I think 3 is my fav. The door and pillars act as a wonderful framing device and the leading lines are well placed. The light at the top of the stairs is probably just blown but it works, it adds an eerie sort of glow that suits the feel. The third column from the front is quite badly blown, however, but there is enough material in the rest of the column to do a careful cut and paste and replace the blown section. I notice that again you have taken a lot of care with the verticals and perspective and they are pretty much spot on. Though there is some lens distortion on the left as the doorframe curves inwards. I would always suggest that lens correction is done first before any adjustment of horizontals and verticals. In summary three very impressive pics, I think your work is getting better and better. Keep them coming.

Hope this helps.

Peter

LOL, I do programming and in between customer contact did the processing so was a bit distracted. In Photomatix my histogram was open right in that area and after processing and opening in PS noticed some major noise/?? in that area and made a quick fix. I wish I had more time and was more focused when I did these.

For me it's hard to hold back but am seeing a better way to do things thanks to this forum.
