I been several times in all seasons. We usually travel fall for color. However, Y has almost no color all evergreens-Tetons do. More animals in the Spring. Avoid summer crowds. If you have an extra day, I would highly recommend the Beartooth Highway from Cooke City to Redlodge MT -absolutely awesome for photography. You won't regret it.

Thanks, I m leaning towards Spring and you're not the first to recommend the Beartooth hwy.

I would shoot to about 5/20-beat the crowds but time to let snow melt. My daughter worked for 3 summers up there and one year she had 10' snow around 5/15.

If you want to go over the 'Beartooth', it will probably NOT be open in spring! We tried last year in the middle of June, and it was closed due to snow! And then the flood came!
