Experience with B&H Used Equipment 90-day Parts and Labor warranty

"Every used item we stock carries a 90-day Parts and Labor warranty." Directly from the B&H web portal.

I have search the B&H web site at length and the only thing I have found in regard to the aforementioned is contained within this link. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/find/HelpCenter/Used.jsp#usedReturnWarranty

There is absolutely no clarification about how the 90-day Parts and Labor warranty is implemented.

Please Note: I like B&H, they are a quality player in the mix for those who work on the commercial side of the photographic equation. I recently purchased an USB Drive at 2:00 pm on a weekday and it appeared at my door in exactly 24 hours! Needless to say, I was shocked (and very pleased).

Enough said: If anyone here has had to use B&H's Used Equipment 90-day Parts and Labor warranty please share your experience. More importantly if anyone can find a "written" reference to how this warranty is implemented (in writing) please share a link to same.

I'm aware that I can likely get a "Call Back" from B&H's Used Department albeit uncorroborated verbal assurances tend to be questionable at best (from experience).

Again thank you for any wisdom or experience(s) with this 90-dat Parts and Labor warranty...

Hmmmm. I have never had to make a claim for any used or new purchase from B&H. I did once have to ask them to send me some missing accessories for a used camera (Fujifilm X-100T).

I have only bought new stuff from them and was pleased with my experience with B&H.

And yes I totally agree that B&H is a stellar vendor of new kit...
That said from my experience it appears that since they are a large volume dealer that they come into some pretty unique collections of hard to find amazing vintage kit by many vendors. Yes their Return Policy is stellar however it's 30 days... wondering about their 90-day Used Kit policy... They occasionally have very hard to find kit that I've been interested in... albeit at a competitive price... Seems they are keenly aware of the current market demand for same.

It is truly and genuinely appreciated...

"You can ask questions via chat..." been there, done that Dave... and I'm sorry but it's inappropriate that B&H refuses to provide (in writing, on their website) a clear comprehensive guideline on their 90-day Used Kit Parts and Labor warranty.

And the want of credible responses to this query bares witness to and reinforces my concerns.

btw, B&H's primary major competitor (KEH) in the "previously owned" marketplace clearly provides it's 180-day warranty coverage for the Used Kit it advertises on it's web site.

"Should your equipment be defective, we will repair it. If repair is not possible, we will issue you either a replacement product (above or one grade below the received condition), or a refund. Shipping is provided by us to facilitate your return/repair."

Yes I totally agree that B&H is likely one of the most highly regarded vendor with folks here on UHH albeit in my minds eye they do not appear to be focused on previously owned kit. Love them for what they do well... enough said.

As an aside, I think they would have to measure up to MPB and KEH. I purchased a used Sony A99 from MPB, and had a problem about 75 days in. I sent it to them for repair, and about ten days later they said it could not be repaired. They let me choose another A99 from their stock, and now about two years later it is still working like a charm! So we have to assume that a big player is not going to mess around with their reputation over any one piece of equipment. they will probably either repair, replace (if in stock), or refund within that 90 days. It may not be your choice of which outcome you get, but it will be one of the three!

azted I completely agree on your inference(s) on mpb...
They have meet and/or exceeded my expectations on high value "previously owned kit"

What's to love about mpb is that they furnish actual images of the items they are listing.
Download them onto your computer/device and enlarge... simply amazing credibility.

I've been more than impressed with mpb

Thank you for sharing azted, we are both on the same page here.

As an aside azted when I offer items for sale here on UHH I fully realize that KEH and mpb are my major competitors and thus I simply have to exceed their sales paradigm by a substantial amount since both KEH and mpb offer their vast experience and more importantly their stellar reputations to the mix. Both are extremely hard "acts" to follow in the highly competitive web arena.

I bought a used D80 from them a few years ago and it had an error code & would not shoot. I called them, they talked me through a couple of checks and had me send the camera 📷 back for a FULL Refund! I am impressed with their customer service.
Note: Before I retired, I worked in Commercial Sound, and B &H was a go-to for A/V equipment.
Great pricing and SUDDEN delivery!

I have had many purchases from B&H, both used and new gear, they have always honored the 30 day return policy to the day... after that day, you are up a creek. I learned quickly. The only issue I discovered is that B&H does sell Grey Market gear, which surprised me... they don't service it either through their recommended Camera Repair shops. So I always AX if this is a concern for any item I purchase [ if appropriate] ... I have not found their used gear to be INEXPENSIVE BUT always described properly.

delder totally agree with you that B&H has a stellar 30 day return policy...
a.k.a. if their item fails within 30 days they will provide a Full Refund.
I have indeed experienced this first hand... And they were good to their word here.

That said, I have not heard from anyone who has experience with B&H's 90-day Used Kit Parts and Labor warranty.
To date I've been unable to find any documentation on their web side on the specifics of the aforementioned.

Again if anyone has experience with B&H 90-day Used Kit Parts and Labor warranty please share your experience in this thread (or PM me if you wish to remain anonymous).

Thank you in advance for providing first hand corroborated documentation.
I learned long ago to place little if any credibility in information given by telephone support (from experience).

While I cherish what B&H (especially their web site) brings to the new equipment equation I remain guarded on my thoughts as to how they handle their 90-day Used Kit Parts and Labor warranty.

Thomas, there is a B&H rep on UHH, I think his name is Herschal, (or something close). Possible he could give you the written assurances on how their parts and labor warranty is administered.

Thomas902: Thank you for your kind words about B&H and for this inquiry. Rather than risk any inaccuracy, no matter how slight, I sent this to the manager of our used dept for his review. When he responds to me I will let you know.

A tip of the hat to Thomas902. We did have a page on our site titled "Used Item Terms of Warranty" which discusses this topic in detail and should answer anyone's question. I don't know why but it's not on the site right now. The used dept manager has opened a task to have it revived and restored. Until then I hope this will suffice.
