I've been gone so long that I've not really had time to play with my new toy. But I have found out that it's a pretty nifty tool! These are 3 shots taken at random. I'll admit they're not great, but finding out what it can do is pretty great.
All 3 are converted from CR3 (raw format) to jpeg in Canon's program. I did crop the second one, but other than that, they are as shot.
I could hear this bird in the tree, but I couldn't see him. So I simply looked in the direction of the sound, and the R3 found the bird!!!!!

Again, I just looked in the direction of the movement, and the R3 found the red dot among the green! Granted it's no great image, but I can't believe it could find the bird!

These guys were running around outside my office window just now. I grabbed the camera and pointed it out my dirty window and got this.

It's the eye-controlled focus that I've been wanting to get back to for years! It worked so well in the film cameras, and it's even better in the R3. Thank you - and you're welcome!
I plan to. It's making me wonder what to do with my 1 Dx!
It appears that you have a lot of fun ahead of you with that camera, Kathy.

Thanks, Mike. It's a dandy!
Enjoy it, Kathy. Nice beginning.

Thanks, Ken. I just wish there was a printed manual. After buying the camera, I can't afford the manual! And the downloaded one just doesn't work for me.
