rode motorcycles

dated thin, long-legged, full-breasted women

and

hunted and fished and went to gun shows and Topless bars

and

dated ladies half his age

and

drank whiskey, beer and wine

and

never heard any bitching

and

never paid child support or alimony

and

dated cheerleaders

and

got to keep his house and guns

and

ate spam and potato chips and beans

and

blew enormous farts

and

had lots of horses and dogs

played lots of golf

all his friends and family thought

he was cool as hell

had plenty of money in the bank

I apologize for the post. I vehemently object to chauvinism. In the 70’s I was a member of NOW, the beginning of the women’s movement against discrimination. I made a poor decision to post the joke.

I remember Bob Hope, Jimmy Durante, Rodney Dangerfield, Don Rickles, Groucho Marx and many other comedians who told jokes about every nationality and most subjects. Nobody was offended and we all laughed at the jokes because they were all meant in fun, people could actually laugh at themselves. Nowadays people are offended if you don’t use the correct pronouns. How far this nation has fallen, what a bunch of wimps we have now.

I remember every one of them too. Many years ago they were entertainment. I don’t disagree with your comments, but I also have a much greater awareness of the injustices people have suffered for many years. Consequently, there is a heightened awareness of prejudices and injustice in our world. I see both sides.
