Watching YouTube last night, there was an ad for a Helix mattress. You give them your physical requirements, and they "design" the perfect mattress for you. In other words, they take Model A, B, or C off the shelf. Then they ship it compressed into a rather small box. I'm not planning to buy a mattress, but I looked at their site. Naturally, pricing wasn't displayed, but one of the tabs at the top was "Financing." Imagine the price if financing is available. Another negative - the first thing they wanted me to do was fill in all my contact info. That's where I stopped. If they can't tell me how much their product costs, I'm not giving them all my contact info.
I'm not going to pay over $1,000 for a mattress. Every time I go to the dump, I see a perfectly good mattress set off to the side. A sheet will cover those stains.
Sleep tight, but don't let the bed bugs bite!

No bed bugs here! The mice hunt them down!

My last mattress cost me over $400 its over 25 years old and still doing great, it will last me the rest of my life ๐
When they offer $800 off sale that stops me from going any farther ๐ค๐ค

Unfortunately, $800 of the price is the new reality.

My daughter just bought a new mattress and paid over 7000 dollars for it. I think she's nuts, but if it does what it is supposed to, I guess she will find value in it.

Everything is available with financing, even your lunch. Instant gratification without the thought of endless payments stretching well into the future. Don't worry. Be happy.
For any product website that doesn't give prices (as the manufacturer thinks that the prices might scare you off...or might wish to get your personal info to spam you to death), you can usually just google the product name along with the word "price." Example: Google "helix mattress price"...and see the results.

Jerry, you can get a Helix queen size Midnight mattress on sale right now starting at $999.00 and finance it for $84.00 a month. Regular price is $1332.00. Just watch out for all the extras and upgrades they have on their website, you'll be well over $2000.00 if you go for them.

Thatโs either a misprint or is $500.00 less than I paid for my first house.

I do hope you're kidding considering all you spend on computer related gear.

Wife and I got a Tuft and Needle King Expando-foam mattress 10 years ago - pretty much when those first came out.
They sent us a free 2" softer topper (their standard was too firm) - no problems ever since.
I don't remember what we paid for it back then - I think it was around $450
We have NEVER had a standard construction mattress last more than 7 years.
Today - there are MANY offering those expando-foam mattresses that come in a box.
But as our current one is showing No Signs of wearing out (maybe we're not using it hard enough?
)
I'd not know how to evaluate the current offerings.

You must be 150 years old - OR your first house was a miners shack on an old logging road ??
My dad BUILT our first house back in the 1950's. 1 acre land was $1K and the construction mortgage was $11K.
WHEN the house/lot sold in about 2018 - it went for almost $1M (location, location, location).
New owners tore the house down and put up a McMansion. Likely another 2.5 - 3.5M.
