The Andes mountains are beautiful, and being in them is marvelous. I get the pleasure of spending time in Riobamba, Ecuador, which has the gorgeous Chimborazo as its guardian. There are three other volcanos round about, which makes for an interesting time. Some are extinct, some not!
Someone asked me why the Andes don't look much higher than some of our local mountains, and I explained that my shots are normally taken at an altitude of 9-10,000 feet, so looking at the top of a mountain from that vantage point may not look that spectacular.
Anyway, these images were taken mostly on a day trip to Chimborazo.
Great images and story.

AZpicLady, I agree with your comment: "The Andes mountains are beautiful, and being in them is marvelous." Your photos show this well.
Cables, cables and more cables in photo #1... a sign of civilization !!!
I recall a relatively new architectural master piece in Argentina with wires draped in every which way without regard to neatness or lines of the building. I am sure the architect had not planned for this atrocity. You could have cleaned up one wire in the photo... but too many is too too many!!! And your photo gets the point across, we sacrifice beauty for the trappings of civilization.
