Beautiful No 2 Power Station - Indian Arm Vancouver

Over the years I have literally taken thousands of shots of this beautiful building - but this is the first time I have been able to show the 'hugeness' (is that a word?) of the sheer rock face alongside the Eastern side of the power station in comparison to the actual building - definitely worth a visit if ever up Indian Arm way in Vancouver (and you have access to a boat) - thanks for looking - Phil

Hydro-electric generator? There is another body of water uphill from this area. Never been to Vancouver or whatever lake that is.

Nice shot. You've achieved your objective of showcasing the station against the huge cliffs. What is the source of the power generation? An uphill source flowing through those tubes?

Correct - Hydro power fed from the lake above it - the name of the lake is Buntzen (actually the power station is called Buntzen Power Station - built in 1914 - decommissioned in the 60's I believe - no 1 power station is around the corner from this one - still operational - also a beautiful building - but not as spectacular as this one

Looking closely at the photo, you can see the large supply pipes on the left side of the photo, leading upward to the lake.
