Blurryeyed Loc: NC Mountains.

Some people work very hard at shooting hummers, backyard studios with multiple flash units remotely triggered... Their images are gorgeous, the kind you see in magazines wings perfectly frozen in time displaying great detail. Me, I settle for something a little less perfect, just a long fast lens and a couple of pretty patches of flowers in my yard.

Unfortunately I was shooting in the sun when the male arrived on some flowers that were in a shaded area, the image was heavily processed so that it did not appear so backlighted and it suffers from over processing yet I hope you still find it somewhat pleasing.

The second one I like the most and seems most successful. The first I like as it is from an unusual direction. The third one seems over done as you say. I am really self critical and picky too, and so seldom post photos on the UHH. Considering as you said the lighting conditions were far from ideal, your images were great.
