Amazing that medical professionals and hospitals can't tell what is male or female.
Gives you no confidence in their professionalism or ability to properly treat a person if they can't even tell what sex the person is.
Doctors are getting more stupid and i***tic than libs. Of course in general they have not always been very high on the broad based smart scale after having dealt with them for years.

As a retired medical professional, I would love to know how medical device or pharmaceutical trials will be conducted going forward. Safety and efficacy must be proven for males and females...for that matter, normal values must be established for males and females.

The new birth certificate identity will state: “human with 2 X c********e” or “human with 1 X c********e and 1 Y c********e”. 😊

Sorry, doctors can't tell the difference anymore.
Med school I guess isn't teaching how to identify male and female.
The AMA, obviously, is a purely political organization, thus negating any legitimacy to anything that they say or publish. It will just be political propaganda and meaningless in the world of reality.

Biden's contribution to the Supreme Court has no clue either.

Rose who specifically is They? Is this (pronoun) implying the American Medical Association which btw is a political action organization.

dakotacheryl you are claiming in this thread to be a retired medical professional, yet you list your occupation to be in Sales on your UHH Bio? How many years of clinical experience do you bring to this thread? And with what credentials?

My thoughts here? which may not be well received yet could have merit to this thread....
Is that those who are licensed to practice medicine typically rely on the DSM (Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (5)) to guide their:
Diagnosis
Treatment
In order to meet challenges and Complications associated G****r Dysphoria

Here is the actual portion of the current DSM 5 that relates to the aforementioned.
https://www.psychiatry.org/patients-families/g****r-dysphoria/what-is-g****r-dysphoria#section_3

Or better yet seek out the DSM version 5 for an authoritative source.
I've linked this below... ~$45

Ok, why do I even care? I'm weary of the baseless hyperbole that masquerades as "news"

Also because I dev**ed five years of my life 2015 to 2020 to tutoring a very close and precious friend on her journey to pass the NCLEX RN Exam and begin her career as a Registered Nurse. Why? She realized that my BS Degree in Chemistry and Geology would possibly have merit in helping her with the Chemistry courses she was struggling with... While on this journey with her I discovered that Candidates for NCLEX RN Exam are trained (from the very beginning) to reject (or view with extreme caution) any information that does not come from Peer Reviewed Medical Journals... In which funding for the research is clearly given.

Oh, The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) develops the NCLEX exam to test the competency of nursing school graduates in the U.S. and Canada. I studied this Exam for over 5 years and it is a challenging exam that requires a huge commitment to be even allowed to take, let alone pass.

Bottom Line? Follow the money...
And it is the DSM 5 that has released the current controversial practices which you folks seem to be concerned about. Study the DSM 5... Get to know it like the back of your hand before you even attempt to engage with your perceived antagonist...

It's a good read for those who have a background in college level sciences
*especially Biology and Chemistry

Wishing all a Joyful 4th of July...
Believe our founding fathers created an amazing institution that has gracefully weathered many dark and stormy moments of this country's history... And I have total confidence it will in fact continue to do so.

My late wife was a social worker and used the DSM as well. Her primary focus was working in advocacy and some political issues. She traveled around the country doing this work. I was lucky that my profession allowed me the freedom to accompany her most of the time with her Leader Dog.
From what she showed me and commented on, it is mostly political BS as well.

The OP and much of the hoopla surrounding pronoun use is from 2021 and before. Check what's more up to date.

What is on a birth certificate is not nearly as important as most current health events. A doctor will need to know male/female, hormone treatments, etc. for cardiac patients because the symptoms present differently. These topics have been around for over 20 years and international categorizations are fully institutionalized by now. Ask any medical transcriptionist of what's used for patient records.

It’s not actually the AMA itself. This comes from the AMA's L***Q+ Advisory Committee.
