I want to purchase a telescope that will allow me to use my Canon dslr body on it.

Can someone out there get me started with some ideas?

Pop, it all comes down to how much do you want to spend. I used to have some large telescopes that cost me nearly $5,000 each but as I got older I found the simpler the setup the more often I used my telescope. Now I'm using an IOptron Cube Pro with my Canon Rebel and a Sigma telephoto mounted on it. The Cube Pro runs about $400 new. There are places on the internet that sell used equipment such as Astromart and Cloudy Nights. This picture of the Orion Nebula was taken last spring with this setup. I hope this helps.
