Not a very well written article. From the article, "Until recently, archaeologists believed that the Clovis people, who claimed to have arrived in North America some 13,000 years ago, were the first Americans."

Exactly when did the Clovis people make the claim that they were first?

The article also uses the phrase "Big Archeology" which makes it sound like some type of conspiracy.

It also talks about information from the "Joe Rogan Experience". Yep...that's where I go for all of my archeology news.

I saw something similar on 60 minutes Sunday. the implications are earth shattering, if you are an archeologist.

It says that there are other sites in North America with such ancient dates, but this is the first time that they have uncovered one. If it is the first time that they uncovered one, how do they know the other ones exist? Just saying.

I saw the same show. It was about solidified footprints in White Sands New Mexico (that used to be a bunch of muddy, shallow lakes) alongside giant sloths and mastodons. Those footprints were also much older than the Clovis artifacts. Very interesting but not necessarily earth shattering to the average person.

Archeologists and paleontologists (and scientists in general) seem to resist change to their cherished beliefs. Now they're realizing dinosaurs might have been partially warm blooded and had feathers while the Aztec and Mayan civilizations were far more advanced and expansive than historians taught us. If we survive the next thousand years, I'd bet those scientists will laugh at our primitive theories of physics and the universe.

As stated the article is very poorly written. Whatever became of proofreaders? I see this more and more, especially on news sites.

I believe there was a recent NOVA episode on PBS recently. . showing the same photo above.

By the way: PBS is good source for reliable "science" issues. . .And, for only a minimal "investment" you can access (for FREE) ALL previous programs, using its "Passport" if you are a monthly subscriber. I give $10/month; and, watch dramatic programs; musical offerings; prior news broadcasts; etc etc. . .And, a SPECIAL note to Jerry c41: It will solve a lot of your "angst" re: monthly "fees". . .<smile>

They, the proofreaders, got covered by the lava flow from the recent eruptions. (While attempting to get age samplings.)
