Nicely taken photos Terry. This is something of interest that we don't see enough of. The Packard, the Merc and the Buick are nicely modified. I especially like the dash on the '55 Buick...very tastefully done.

How far we have travelled from these to what we have presently. These seem so "antiquated?

Wonderful series focusing on the dashes of these cars that were beautiful inside and out. Love all the roundy, ceramic knobs to be pushed or pulled on the 1940 Chevy, and the meticulously restored woodwork! Also, the 1954 Mercury is like an airplane cockpit with all those dials. I could never be a judge at one of these car shows unless allowed to create a category for each car (kind of like for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade floats), they are awesome, thanks for posting!

Clutch peddle missing.... I did not realize how early automatic tranmissions were introduced.

I like the 1954 Kaiser Darrin. Beautiful inside and out.

Thanks for that. As a kid, I liked peaking inside cars to see their dashboards. My uncle had a Pontiac, and the high beam indicator light was in the shape of the Pontiac logo.

Probably not original to all the cars. Although I have read that Ford offered a fully automatic in 1947, so that Merc may have been an original one.
