I came across this very young fawn while walking a periphery trail around a hay field. I would have missed it if I had not been looking for it after my wife had told me she had spotted it earlier in the day while she was out walking the same trail. Tall grasses were all around the fawn making it difficult to find. I only stayed a few moments, enough to turn my camera on and to get a couple of photos. I'm sure mom was close by.
A bird in flight caught my eye while coming around a corner in the woods. The camera had difficulty trying to get focus but once it did I realized it was a juvenile bird. I'm not sure what species it is at this moment. Like I said it was in the woodland near a pond. I'm thinking some sort of thrush or maybe a song sparrow? But, I'm no bird expert.
Lastly, I caught this this female Yellow-bellied Sapsucker going back and forth to a specific tree, so I decided to stick around to see what it was up to. The photo shows it with some sort of worm or caterpillar that it ultimately brought back to a hole in a tree where it was feeding her young.
Enjoy
