And they say the PO is losing money. If they do their job right the 1st time they would not lose money.

I think that most, if not all, of us have experienced delivery problems. However not all deliveries are problems. I would venture that problem deliveries are a small minority. To condemn a delivery service for a problem is overk**l probably brought about by frustration. The only way to avoid delivery problems is to go to the store, buy it, and take it home. If the store doesn’t have it then do without. If for some reason going to the store is not an option and you have to order it online, prepare yourself for the possibility of a delivery problem.
Also remember that an estimated delivery date is just that, an estimate not a guarantee.

I can top this. I am still awaiting a package from Amazon Prime from last week. It was scheduled to be delivered on 6/22. I previously ordered a temporary change of address beginning on the 23rd of June.
I live in Naples, FL. The package started out from Fort Myers on the 21st. It was out for delivery on the 22nd.
For no reason I can discern, they decided that the change of address would begin a day early, so off we go.
So- back to Fort Myers, and then to Shrewsbury MA on Sat 6/24 where it waited until Sunday when they shipped it farther north and away from NY to Nashua NH.
It stayed languishing in NH until today, Wednesday the 28th when they apparently decided to send the package back to FL-Ybor City. It has just arrived back in Fort Myers, where it began its round trip exactly 1 week ago.
I wouldn’t want to bet on where the package is headed next.

My sister-in-law sent my wife a $100 visa vanilla gift card for her birthday this month. The card took two weeks to go 75 miles, the envelope had been torn open, and the gift card was missing. Two years ago, on the day that the USPS email showed my wife had 5 birthday cards arriving that day, we never received that days mail.

It's a rigid bureaucracy that refuses to change and Congress does not have the will to help it make it and would rather private businesses take over. It seems that there are two post office services, one that delivers to my house, on time, dry, in good shape mail and packages 7 days a week, and the local mail post office that seems to bungle along.

I do like the online feature that shows what mail you are getting. That works well as long as the mail is delivered but if reported missing I never hear anything back from the post office.

Let's not forget some utilities, phone companies, and cable providers who have become so big they can't keep track and provide horrible customer service because they are typically the sole provider of the service and they can charge what they want and don't have to provide great customer service.

John451, you should really report that theft to the post office. I worked at the postal service for a short time back in the 90's and theft was VERY seriously prosecuted.

Yes. It amazes me that when I mail a birthday card to a friend in a town 10 miles east, the card is sent to a "facility" 40 miles west and then back east again. I can walk to my friend's house and back many times before the card even reaches her town, let alone being delivered to the actual address.

My package which has been traveling up and down the East coast, was once again out for delivery to my Naples address, when once again someone noticed a change of address, and once again it’s heading back up the East coast. This is a joke.
Fortunately, Amazon sent me a replacement which will arrive at my L.I. address today, 1 day after I reached out to them for help.

MANY mail non-delivery problems … and 2 of them have been prescription medication delivery, from a government source, has resulted in me going to a local drug store that is not in the government insurance list… and paying for the meds.

The only time this has ever happened to me, it was FedEx. The only time I ever got a package damaged so badly it had to be returned, (twice) it was UPS. Our postal service here has been superb for the most part, and much cheaper than the other guys. Dejoy, who is personally invested in delivery services, has made it his mission to take the Postal Service down, and the Biden administration couldn't care less, it seems. This is what late-stage capitalism looks like.
