I just ordered three of them. But for $62,490 I would have expected something better than a 5.6 lens. Oh well, it's only money.

Can I borrow it sometime? I don't have enough time left on this earth to save up to purchase one. :-)

“You can carry the camera anywhere to capture anything at any time, recording inspiration as it strikes,” Phase One explains.

Yeah, unlike all those OTHER cameras.

"The integrated lens in the XC appears to be the same Rodenstock 23mm f/5.6 lens available for the XT camera system. The lens’ aperture ranges from f/5.6 to f/22, and the manual focus lens has a 72mm filter thread. When purchased for the XT, the lens is $11,990."

"The Phase One XC Camera is available to order now in limited quantities for $62,490, the same price as the Phase One XT IQ4 150MP and XT 23mm lens kit."

What segment of the population are they marketing? I don't see a lot of interest in this thing, but then, what do I know? Manual focus lens, equivalent to a 14.7mm lens on a full-frame camera. I didn't see any mention of storage media on the camera; those files must be huge... 150-megapixel images are 14,204 x 10,652 pixels.

I was thinking the same thing about the file size!

Reminds me in its use of a film Hasselblad Superwide 6x6cm camera that came with one fixed lens. But that camera with fewer parts was cheaper I recall than their regular SLR medium formate 6x6cm camera. The only thing this Phase-one for me would be useful for would be landscapes and of course I shoot mostly close-up and macro so it would be a waste of money for me if I could even afford such a beast. It is truly an expensive specialty item for an extremely limited market. I'll pass even if I had Elon Musk's money.

I'm surprised this wasn't from April 1 - maybe they delayed the release...

For a nominal extra 20k...you get a two man security team for one year while using the camera in public.
