And BAM everything suddenly worked...

...well, the mechanics anyway.
So the weather has finally turned good here at the Sleepy Dog Observatory.
I've been a few months dabbling with N.I.N.A; and slowly ferreting out the tips and tricks.
I finally figured out one mystery question that took me to the Losmandy Gemini II forum and Pow! There was a "Magic Bullet" by Paul K for a setting I was needing in my Gemini II controller to allow NINA to park the mount.
Once I got that, and some other elusive settings, now it is at least completing that part.
The last piece to the whole puzzle is the meridian flip. I checked my files and there is a gap about big enough at about the right time (Stellarium) for a meridian flip to have occurred. But I was snoring away.
Tonight I'll collect the Narrowband data on the same target. Hope I get an equally pleasant surprise tomorrow morning.
I love the smell of success! (Or is that the "Morning breeze"? )

Uh Huh!
Hi, Welcome to UHH Astro forum.
I do Electronically Assisted Astrophotography. So very heavy on computerized mounts and programs,
Nighttime Imaging 'N' Astronomy.Or N.I.N.A. for short. I've spent several months dialing in my equipment to work with all the attributes of the program. I've had to upgrade and update to finally get things working.
Finally, I've gotten my equipment to go from a target selection in
Stellarium, to a final Parked Position after the entire night of data acquisition.
But all the T's crossed and i's dotted is the tricky part. A lot of this sport isn't simply Plug and Play. Way too many variables. Standards are only sort of because there are so many different ways and equipment to blindly go with a single solution.
That is what makes it so much fun. And the learning curve is more like climbing a mountain, with boulders rolling down on you.
So I'm finally getting to the point I could only dream of 10 years ago. Set all the programing, click a button, and watch a lot of magic happen on something only a few can see.
It's an odd sport, but if you have the patience of Job, anybody can play.
Then you can wind up with stuff like this:

Again, Welcome to the Astro section!
