I hate those plastic bags. They are so weak that cotton balls would break through them. I use two or three at a time when I need them.
Ive always kept my cotton balls in them. No hey problemo !!!

Thank you for measuring them. I had always wanted to know the number. I should have started a fresh thread to inquire about that.

Correct. I can also give it to a UPS driver. I'll probably do that on Wednesday when I receive a delivery.
Yeah. Just hand her the camera in a produce bag, plus return label, and remind her that its fragile.

On some cameras users reported having trouble getting the lens to lock. It appears it happened on some cameras on a subset of the production lots.
So everyone wants to send their camera back regardless of if they have the problem or not and then have no camera because the repair facility will be backed up for weeks. Rather than sending it in only if they have the problem.
"Everyone" ???
Is that a real world "everyone" or only just the Hawgster World "everyone" ?

Yes, acoarst, and with soy sauce.

I hope they return the rice so it doesn't go to waste.
Their policy is that you get fresh new replacement rice, two egg rolls, new exterior rubber parts and, very most importantly, a brand new plastic bag.

Use a gallon size freezer bag.
I was advised to use a 4 litre.

Just use US Mail, Priority Service. Free boxes of several sizes.
But not free shipping :-(

No plastic bags in NY.
If you get rice from the take-out place you will get a plastic bag. I do it all the time. Also, if you ask they will give you an extra plastic spoon.
In flagrant gross violation of UHH Sacred Tradition, I advise only about stuff that I actually really know from real experience

It'll give you a tiny bit more room to work. And won't fit as tightly around the grip and viewfinder.

Well my job is to make them. They are about 10 to 15 micron thick.

You have cotton balls? Surely a mess when showering (thus the plastic bags) but I bet a sure hit with the ladies!!

There is certainly some % of each but a good bet Hawgsters might have the larger %. It’s a natural instinct for people to want their products to be perfect. Especially when they cost $4000.
Recall the fiasco with Intel years back, when they release of one of their processors that had an error that resulted in incorrect addition, way out near the nth insignificant digit, completely unnoticeable for the majority who use the computer for email and surfing the net. Those people would never have even know be it for an astute engineer who tested it and published the results. The joke was “what is 1+1? Ans: Well it is 2 unless you are using Intel then it is 1.99999999.
After the issue was exposed there was a great uprising, people were angry, they demanded a replacement, and Intel ended up replacing a majority of the “defective” units sold, 90% of which did not need the replacement to do their business.
Sometimes it’s totally about marketing and perception, and not about technical merit.

Had a neighbor that was working in that bidnez. His outfit didnt make them but they printed on them. Covid emergency hugely increased their volume ... various medical purpose bags with labels and instructions on them. He made plenty of overtime $$ on that.

My Z8 by S/n is in need of repair. Like the original poster i noticed there is no ability to select Z8, or select nothing. So i selected Z7 just to get it to print. I then called Nikon Service center in Signal Hill, (Thats based on where my Zip code directs it). They acknowledged the selection problem and said they will remove it as step in the coming days, as it's not necessary, but stops you from proceeding. Based on my phone number she could had all the information from me filing the form out on line. So she registered it for me, confirmed that my camera need the repair and told me to proceed with shipping it. Based on how many they get, at the time they receive it, it could take up to 9 days, but probably will be much less than that.
She was super helpful and pleasant. Just what you expect from a customer agent but you don't always get. Well Done.

Right. When I looked later, the selection window was gone.
