I know there are tons of free Photoshop instructions available but thinking of buying Matt Kloskowski's "Photoshop System" course. Anybody used one of his courses? Thanks.

I have it. Love it. He offers free updates as things change. No regrets.

You're on the right track. Rather than watching random YouTube videos, pick an instructor and follow straight through.

Lynda.com gives you a month for free. Whoops! Lynda.com is now Linkedin Learning.

Many, maybe most, public libraries provide a no charge connection to Linkedin Learning.

If your library doesn't have it, one way to keep the cost down (after the free month) is to quickly cancel when you complete the course. The normal signup is for a year but you can signup and cancel a day later. You will be charged $20. Your access will then run 30 days and end. That should be long enough to complete a class.

When I checked a couple weeks ago, there were two current Photoshop courses there. One is with Adobe's near famous Julieanne Kost and is long, very complete and detailed. A more streamlined course is lead by Jan Kabili.

check your local school for their adult night school classes. Many have photoshop classes. I paid $25.00 for a 12 week class. Unfortunately it wasnt great, too many people asking stupid questions. example
teacher says here is how to change the brush color ( to red example)
student raises hand and asks well can you change it to blue too?
next student asks well is there any colors not listed that you can change it to.
pretty soon we had 20 minutes of changing a brush color......

Hmm. Babysitter11 likes him, so that's two. I think he's excellent, too, so that's three. Of course DrCoy's opinion is only one person's but that's what this site is all about. Add up the opinions and perhaps there will be a consensus. Perhaps you were a little too quick on the trigger.

I also have Matt's class on PHOTOSHOP and I will tell you that nobody does it any better than Matt. In my case it was money well spent and helped me considerably. His course on PHOTOSHOP HOW TOs has helped me considerably. Matt is a devoted professional who makes every effort to make us the best we can be.

Matt is great, I've seen him in person many times at the old Photoshop Professionals annual meetings I used to attend. Scott Kelby is another great one as are others mentioned here. There are so many good ones out there. Also there are so many ways to do the same thing in Photoshop, so that is another confusing thing. Remember, there is no single correct way to do something in Photoshop. There are many good books by some of the people mentioned here. Maybe buy a book and go through the lessons that way. Many also have a CD that comes with them on the inside cover. You won't go wrong with any of the people mentioned here, including Kevin Kabota.

If you want to learn all about photography, then go to www.kelbyone.com
This site is excellent and the cost is well worth what you get from this site. Scott Kelby is an amazing educator and along with him you get many other photographers teaching every aspect of photography. There are so many classes that it will take you about a year to learn everything there is to learn. It is a mind blowing site.

I like Matt's training but I have also watched some of Serge Remalli's and Tim Shield's classes. Try some, look around and pick one that fits your style and then stick with that.
