Well both places to get gas had the same price... just glad I didn't need any fuel, and could return to Kalispell on the same tank.

That's cheap compared to SoCal. The fuel down here is a boutique fuel so we get raped compared to the rest of the country.

I just got an E-mail from my brother. He told me he had to pay $6.10/gallon for Diesel in a small town near Tucson!

Must be a small town. It is not surprising to see those prices considering it is close to Glacier National Park. They know they got a corner on the market where they are and are charging for it. Those that are close to empty or low on fuel will pay the price no matter the cost, or you will find them sitting along the side of the road somewhere.

Exxon has never been a cheap place to get gas from anyway.

Yep, that's nothing more than either Corporate or Private Owner greed.

Wow, Montana of all places. Well you could have had an EV and then spent over an hour at the station waiting for a enough charge to get back to Kalispell, if they even had the chargers... Cheers.

When I was a teenager many, many years ago I worked in a gas station on a main highway. People complained about the high price of 29.9 and 32.9.

That’s cheaper than $4.69 we are paying in Los Angeles area!

Supply is restricted, due to few supplier options. Demand is in-elastic due to dire consequences of getting stranded. The area contains a high number of vacation travelers flush with cash…

It’s a normal thing to charge what the market will bear under such conditions.

Just remember, they must also make a living for when the traffic/business goes away during the winter months...
