I may have posted a similar image long ago, but I've been experimenting with hand-held panos since I'm currently unable to walk much (getting a new hip next week). This started out today as five vertical RAW shots with my little M6, then was stitched in ACR, giving me a 30x50 inch, 16 bit, 932 MP image file. After editing, flattening and converting to an 8 bit JPEG, it's still 30x50 but "only" 385 MP. I will show the large file to my little study group then probably delete it. The image below was reduced to 7 inches wide.
There are times I think I would love to get back into medium and large format film, but then some sanity comes back. I believe that panos like this, if done more carefully than this one, can collect every bit as much detail as 4x5 film.

This is another hand-held pano taken today of the backside of this elevator. I might use some of the new replacement features of Photoshop to modify the edges of this image rather than crop them down.

Good luck with the hip. My wife went through that a few years ago.

Thank you bcheary. I've had both knees replaced the past year and a half and hope this will be the last surgery for a while.

I like both shots of the old fellow. They are, unfortunately, a disappearing breed.

Thanks John. I'm surprised this one has lasted this long, being right in the middle of town. It is a favorite backdrop for senior pics tho.
