General Conversation - Repeats

I noticed recently that some entrees in General Conversation are repeats from the day before and in some cases repeats from one and two days before.

This is also true for some photos i.e. repeats from the day before.

I don’t remember this happening previously.

Are they running out of topics ?

What?

Do you mean discussions of the latest Nikon (almost always) camera release?

Or, why is mirrorless better?

Or, which protective filter should I get for my new and every expensive lens?

Or, which of my overlapping cameras should I take on a cruise?

Or, has AI ruined photography?

raypep, you are referring to the labels on the emailed Daily Digest, and you're correct that if a topic is labeled "re-run," there were not enough new topics created the previous day to fill the area allotted before it was emailed to you.

As for "they" running out, how about being pro-active and start new discussion topics in areas of interest to you? All UHH users have the capability of creating new topics in any section.

UHH has around 60 sections (see "all sections" in link at bottom of this page). Go through the list and subscribe to ones of interest so you can see all that's happening here

In several sections of my digest today a majority of the topics were those I viewed yesterday or several days previously. My thought was that it was due to lack of new posts. I just figured everyone was busy taking photos and busy in post processing all the spring photos they had taken.

Or on vacation without their cameras?

Do you look for live (just-posted) topics throughout the day? The digest contains just a sampling of what was created the day prior to your receiving it.

I've seen people post a cartoon that was posted a few days earlier, but that's just a coincidence.

My routine is to peruse the digest in the morning while enjoying my morning coffee. I’ll visit during the day if I am uploading images in a posting, which is a rare circumstance for me (as you can see from my original post numbers). I have overextended myself with other obligations that have absorbed the time I need for my personal interests.

Right. I alternate between Latest Digest and email responses from UHH. When I finish that, I'm done with UHH for the day.

Overextending oneself is difficult to avoid sometimes. Best to you Stan.

My boss/manager has overextended me with a lot of extra scheduled hours for the past few months, because too few others are willing to work enough to sort of keep caught up.
At least so far, his boss has not been giving either of us grief about my hours per pay period.

I've tried visiting UHH a few times recently, when I finish a shift, for a little relaxed entertainment as a slight diversion from the mental stress of the job, before I just fall asleep on the keypad.

Theres good reason this one repeats. Ask yourself whether you might be the cause.

Just because you read a thread yesterday doesn't mean you have to skip it today. The threads are dynamic for a few days (sometimes longer) so there may be new posts within the thread.

I never look at the digest. I look at the section list and/or my watched list. On my watched list UHH will tell me when there are new posts on a thread and those are the ones I go to first.

Hey, Paul? You forgot the all time champion, " which PP editor is best, and why?"
