115 degree feel like temperature predicted the next couple of days. The squirrels have the right idea.
We had warnings of a hot weekend, but it didn't happen.

Samantha lives in Dallas/Ft Worth area. Check the listed weather. 100/101 real temps. I use Accuweather. Seems to be always accurate.

Slighty worse here in Austin. How bad was it? I didn't even want to play golf! LOL
In August 59' I spent a honeymoon weekend in Ft. Worth/Dallas. Wow! We could just about breathe. I was stationed at White Sands Missile Range, NM. 115 -120 degrees in the summer.

I'm in the DFW metroplex too. Heat index could reach 114 in the shade and 120 in the open! It has been too hot to fly my new ANAFI USA drone and put it through its paces.

In 1958 I spent 3 months (May June & JULY) In Air force Basic Training at Lackland AFB Texas.
The hot days on the drill field were brutal.
You have my sympathy.

It’s a while since our hot summer left us & I wasn’t sorry. Now we’re freezing our brass monkeys off, wishing a bit of warmth returned. But ain’t that human. We’re never happy.
Our summer reaches 45 Celsius at times & winters now, bay time max of mid teens, 15<> give or take, C. And miserable rainy days at times. Life’s a bitch??? Lol.
First trip to visit my sister in Chicago...113 degrees.
Second trip to my sister in Chicago...-10 degrees.
I told her after the second trip...you need to move away from here.
Great photo, tells the story for you!
Reminds me of a business trip to Arizona one summer - felt like you were standing in a blast furnace.

Texas heat index numbers are the lead story on the evening news up here. I also read that the violent storms have left many people without electricity; some, as long as 3 days in this heat. I don't know how you do it although one could argue the same for us northerns who stay sequestered in our homes, huddled around our wood stoves, during a winter cold snap.
