I recommend Luminar Neo. You can buy a lifetime license (non-subscription) which you own or a subscription which gives you all the extensions. It's difficult to find the lifetime license but you can find it here:

I also own On1 2023 and recommend it as well..

AFFINITY 2 is relatively cheap for a license (free updates until they bring out AFFINITY 3 - gap between 1 & 2 was about 5 years I think).

Quite a lot on You Tube and other sources available for help, including their own site. Can't comment on any others as I've not used them.

If you're actively subscribing to Adobe, you should be paying around $9.99 for the "Photographer's Plan". The logical migration path from LR4 is the software now called "Lightroom Classic".

Along with your subscription payment comes access to chat and phone support directly from Adobe. They should be able to help with your printing problem(s).

Lightroom
Classic does not use the cloud to perform any of its actions

And you should be able to print directly from the program as well as add copyright information. A quick Google search will provide instructions.

"i used (lightroom 4) years ago "

If you liked Lightroom 4, you will love Lightroom Classic, now at version 12.4. Everything you had then, including copywrites and printing, is still there but you get much, much more.

As others have said above, it sounds like you didn't install the right "Lightroom".

I am a big fan of darktable. With their sceen referred workflow, I can handle most images in a couple of minutes. Best part is it's free open source software and development is very active.

Don't understand all the fuss about subscriptions and favorite programs. The OP liked Lightroom but simply ordered the wrong version! If you can't afford $10/month for your favorite hobby you should find another.

datsmar post "looking for a new photo editing program"... migrated from suggestions to condemnations ... the Adobeites saying, "If you don't believe and stick with your Adobe, you are not supporting your photo church."

Edit programs renewed every few years at a reasonable one time outlay and plugins like Topaz are the winning modern way to go.

Two separate issues. The OP failed to realize that Lightroom Classic can do exactly what he desires; and that he would consider alternate software. Responding to either option was appropriate. Personally, I REALLY LIKE my Adobe subscription; but I would add that it is my responsibility to stay abreast of new developments that expand its and my capabilities. Learning a new product is often fraught with frustrations. I recommend staying with software that you like until or unless it cannot do what you want.

You don't seem to understand - it's not about what can be afforded - it's about principles and not making Big Rich even richer- at the expense of ordinary people.

Don't understand why people think that a software company that produces a quality product should not be considered because they make money. That's the point of ALL companies. And particularly when the company in question provides a product at a reasonable price.
