Nikon V1

I was recently gifted with a Nikon V1 with 10/30, 30/110 lenses, lens adapter for use with some of my other Nikon lenses, and a flash.
Has anyone here had experience with this camera, and if so, what do you think about it? I already know that it's not a pro level camera and don't expect it to be. Even though I haven't had the chance to use it much, I expect it to be a pretty good carry around camera. I also know that there are many other "mini" cameras out there, but I am only interested in the V1. Thanks from the mountains of eastern Idaho.

I have a Nikon 1 V1 and have been impressed with it. Go to Nikon Cafe and look at the CX Mirrorless Camera section for a lot of good info on it.

My web page has two galleries for the Nikon 1 V1 with sample photos with several lens combinations. "Nikon 1 V1 FT1" and Nikon 1 V1 photos and Videos"
http://gofish.smugmug.com/ I have used it with the Nikon 1 lens and other Nikon lens from a 16mm fisheye to a 600mm VR, all with good results.

Are you going to buy the 18.5 mm f/1.8 lense for the V1? I have the V1 and the 10 mm, 10-30mm, 30-110mm also the F mount. I have good results with the Nikon 35mm f/1.8 on the V1 using the F mount. Don't know if I should invest in the the 18.5 mm for the V1. BTW I am impressed with the speed but the camera lacks some menu work (fixed by the UGLY V2) and would be nice with a larger sensor. Keeping my d5000 and D60 for portrait.

I do not plan toget the 18.5 mm. What I really want is a telephoto Nikon 1 lens for 200mm or more.

If you get the F mount you can put your DSLR lens on. I have a d 60 kit 55-200 (gives me 540mm due to crop factor), a tamrom 70-300 (810 mm but not crisp). The Nikon 1 30-110 give a 297 mm range) But it would be nice to have dedicated lens for V1 in the 200=300 range, but is it worth the price? Would be cheaper due to smaller sensor area.

Jerry, after looking at your website I have decided that I need to take my V1 a bit more serious. Thanks....

Jerry! WOW! What a website page! I've never seen such good photographs of anything as good as yours! Your website is immaculate! Good color - great macros and super macros! you've got the patience of a saint! I'm a spider fan myself, and my shots don't look anywhere near as sharp as yours, especially my black widows. Thanks for sharing and telling us about your website!

Just bought a Nikon V1 to have a tinker with and came across your post.

How does Smugmug work.........mainly what is the cost. I can't seem to find these finer details out looking at their home page.

Here is the site with the rates. I have the Pro at $60 so I can post video.

I have also added a gallery on my site for the Nikon 1 V2 with the FT1 adapter. If you put the cursor over the large photo and click on the blue info pop out it will give you info on the lens used.

Thanks!

I see that Nikon have a wide angle zoom lens out shortly 6.7mm-13mm for the Nikon 1 series at $500.
