When I was taking the dogs for a walk around the small end of our lake, it was such a nice day that I took a few shots to show the area. The first shot shows the Kennecott Copper Mine in the background. The second post is one of my wife's dog walk shots to show how the mine is visible from all over our development.

Thanks, Barbara. Rio Tinto now owns the mine and it is an active open pit. The adjoining areas, however, are being reforested through efforts financed by Rio Tinto and carried out by the University of Utah and other interested groups.
