If you've been following this narrative you know that I spent 18 days atop rarely visited Cummings Mesa. This was not what we had planned to do this spring, weather continually forced us to change plans. In fact, out of over 5 weeks of hiking in canyon country this spring, we spent exactly two hours doing what we had planned to do. It all worked out as I think these images ( my favorite from our Cummings Mesa adventure) attest to. There's more than 2 images of West Canyon and it's wonders, in fact we found it so beautiful we're planning on returning there next spring. It had been over 10 years since we'd spent much time in this hall of beauty.
Love the first. The fifth is a close second.
What can I say, but: Wow! Thanks for beginning MY day just a little bit differently! Come to think of it, I live only a few hours from "Something, a bit similar!" And, I tend to take it for granted. . .without looking out the window as often as I should!
In fact, I "re-arranged" (and, added onto) my house (beginning 16 years ago; and, continuing through today) just so I'd awaken each morning to a such view (though NOT quite as spectacular!). . .
Thank you, again, "Wilderness!"
With my best regards, Brian Flaherty

Absolutely agree! Excellent set! Thanks to “wilderness” for sharing!
Outstanding series of images!! You were in remarkable country for sure!
I'm wondering if you could tell me were you in Utah or Arizona?
I live in mid-California, almost "halfway up the mountain (Hwy 88. . .3,000 ft elevation)" . . the view out of my bedroom window are the Sierra snow-tops. A 45-minute drive brings me to views (at 9,000 ft), to the West: California's Central Valley and the Pacific Coast to the East: Nevada's Washoe Valley; and, to the South: the southern Sierra range, beginning with Yosemite. [Of course, some of that I have to imagine because of TALL trees; and, occasional cloud cover. . <smile>]
I give directions to MY house as: "Drive east, up Hwy 88, through Pine Grove. Take the first significant highway turn-off (Hwy 26); and, keep driving for maybe 10-15 minutes (through West Point). . .Go another 8 to 10 minutes; and, when you think you're lost. . Stop! Look for a beat-up sign (on a very bent post) that says "Trespassers W. . " You're probably in front of my house. Wilseyville is NOT a "ville;" does not have a diner or a gas station! But, it does have a Zip Code; clean air; and, (to quote Carl Sagan) "Billions and Billions of stars" at night! And, more recently, the occasional "Mandatory Evacuation Order" because of forest fires! <smile>
However, I have NOTHING to compare to Cummings Mesa! You're still Numero Uno!

First of all, Lovely images and very well done. I have been following your post on this which is rare for me to do here. I admire and respect you attitude about the place and especially the artifacts you encountered.
