The first two are breakfast time on the Delaware river about 40 miles north east of Philadelphia. Two different times of the year, but my feet were in the same place.
The other two smoky images were taken this afternoon at about 2 PM from my roof, with their comparisons.
About an hour after I took those images, the wind picked up, and the density of the smoke dissipated, but it is far from gone.

That smoke is almost as thick as heavy fog.

The Yankees / White Sox game is postponed tonight. Chickens, after the Sox won last night with Judge on the bench.

So I get to watch a doubleheader tomorrow. The pain I suffer. This from a fan who used to have monologues with Jill DiMaggio.

I'm looking on at the pics on the NYTimes.com and it seems things have gone downhill from even your onsite captures. This may be a lot bigger / worse than one night's baseball game.

It's already set a record here, so anything worse will just be another record.

Unbelievably NYC posted the worst worldwide major city air pollution level today -- "besting" usual problem areas like Delhi India. Even upstate NY areas had incredible air issue/photographic postings as well.

My golf foursome canceled for tomorrow. I had a triple bypass last August, and I'm the healthiest of the four of us. None of us want to try CPR on any of us.

Living most of my life in Oregon, the nations largest lumber producer, we know of this well. It’s no fun and unhealthy. Hope you folks back there get a good breeze soon. In the mean time be as cautious as you can.
