My visit to our lake on Monday confirmed that the summer take over by the yellow head black birds was complete. All the smaller red wing black birds were gone and the trees, reeds and roof tops were occupied by the YHBBs. Their cry sounds like a rusty gate and they were flying all over the area.

I guess I should have said I haven't seen a close-up of a bird's mouth like that before! Not actual teeth but teeth-like structures called tomia that some birds have.
