Things have been hectic, here and seem to be missing more sports than shooting with shooting graduation ceremonies and the holidays etc. Picked up a new lens to try my hand at shooting waterfowl on the local slough and gave it a try my granddaughters barrel race Saturday. Even on a monopod it is a beast to shoot with for a long period of time!

Truly an enchanting series... beautifully done...
That said the forth image is absolutely breathtaking!
Perfect timing on such an epic pivotal moment...

So totally understand ivycreek... been there with an AF-S 200-500mm f/5.6E Nikkor, albeit migrated to fast constant length primes.
Now shooting League Soccer with a 300mm f/2.8 which weighs the same as your wonderful Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Sports 014.
This prime floats like a feather on a Sirui P424 carbon fiber monopod... Constant CG...
Experience was a brutal teacher... Will never ever go back to zoom optics let alone variable length pumpers.
Wishing you all the best on your incredible journey ivycreek...
Looking forward to more of your stellar sport/fitness renderings.
Cheers!
Nicely captured - well done!
Very good series! Hopefully you'll be able to get back to sports shortly.
That combo and you seem to click. Really nice pics. Great timing in #4.
Nice shots--love to watch barrel racing and poles.

Totally agree! I use a 300 2.8 for shooting football. That just doesn’t have enough reach for where I go to shoot waterfowl where 99 percent of the slough is on a Wildlife refuge so I can’t get close to the waters edge. Someday though when I hit the lottery I will get a large prime

Nice set with your R6mk2 and lens. So many new Canon lens are coming to the consumer, really expensive though!
Love the barrel racing, great series!

#4 and #5 are riveting shots. Dirt kicking up, rider and horse in the midst of competition. Got to love it.
A job well done and worthy of a spot on the wall.
