I recall reading about two teams that drove cars coast to coast, one team taking a lot of risks, speeding, changing lanes, etc, the other team driving safely. The first team got there about 30 minutes sooner.

Where is a good cop when you need one.ok I'll take a bad one.i was going down the hiway at about 75 mph( the speed limit) .I notice a state trooper had someone pulled over.i Texas you need to slow down by 20 mph if someone is on the shoulder or move over to the left lane.before I had a chance to pull over to the left a speeding car going about 95 mph passed me on the left lane.thinking that the trooper couldn't chase him cause he was still giving out a ticket, the guy kept up his speed.unfortunately he was finished giving out the ticket and was on his way back to his car.about 8 miles down the road he had pulled him over.i honked at him and gave him the thumbs 👍 and waved at him.he waved back.i'm pretty sure he was a good cop.

The same thing happens when a traffic lane is closed for construction. A lanes closure sign is posted. Considerate drivers pull over into the open lane and wait their turn to pass the construction site. Inconsiderate drivers forge ahead in the lane to be closed to get ahead of the other drivers in the open lane. The solution to this problem is for a driver to stay in in the closing lane and keep pace with traffic in the open lane which blocks inconsiderate drivers from moving ahead. Truckers are expert at blocking lanes like this.
