Spent the last several days setting up my new computer. With all the programs and plug-ins I was using, my 8 year old 32GB, I7 processer computer made post processing a chore.
What took time is I went from win10 home to win11 pro. Old work flow needed modification. Fortunately most of my files were on external drives.
I bought a stripped down gaming model with 64GB ram, 2TB SSD, no DVD, keyboard and mouse. Plenty of USB connectors.
I am happier than a you know what!

Nice birdie capture! Wow, I am surprised you found your i7, 32GB, Win 10 Home slow! You must be running a lot of programs and apps simultaneously. I have pretty much the same machine probably (a Dell XPS) as your old machine and it runs Photoshop fine! I have Win 10 Home and my wife has Win 10 Pro (on a Dell Inspiron) and I see little difference in speed, but there are a few differences in the interface and business features we do not use.
I take it you only use you computer for commercial photo processing. I could not live without a DVD drive because I play movies and listen to music on my PC in addition to Web Browsing and using MS-Office. I burn Audio CDs too. I wish I had a Blu-Ray drive in my PC.

I'm very happy you got such a beautiful female Cardinal pic, but I'm not happy to be facing a similar computer exercise.

Windows and photoshop/lr create many temp files. Keeping them deleted improves performance significantly.
Easy to move your windows temp folder off your C: drive.
Easy to create a .bat file to delete all unnecessary temp files.

I don't/didn't have that problem.
