Like it a lot, love the way he is looking right at me, like the light and shadow.

I like it, though I think the light needed to be a bit higher.

I will try again but lift the light a bit higher the shadow from the nose needs to be more of an angle downwards? but trying to avoid glare from the bald head so would you feather the light in this situation??

Nice image. I would burn in all that sweatshirt - it is too bright and competes with his face. Then crop it tighter - all that shirt is not needed. While cropping, tilt him to the right. As it is there is an ever-so-slight slight feminine tilt to your head. Not bad, but guys look better with a bit of a tilt the other way.

I did a quick version of what I suggested. I will post it if you wish. I hate it when people make so-called fixes to images and then post it with a, "I hope you don't mind, but i...." A bit late by then!

Wow....see what you mean, more impact on the face from the tilt and darkened slightly. I'll take note of that for future reference and participant/model direction something I don't currently do.

Just finished an afternoon shift at the factory of soul destruction...Sorry work. I hoping to improve my photography to get out and get a proper job.

I like the Second adaption it feels a bit more balanced, if I go dark on my images I normally question am I losing detail.... the impact on your variation is a lot more effective.... that's me up for the next couple of hours tweaking away in Photoshop.

Russ...thanks.

Yes, of course the post processing matters. There is no way to get that final image straight from the camera.

You are welcome. One the ways to see if anything needs toning down is to look at the image upside down. That make recognizable things less so and we can see things that are too bright. The t-shirt is an example.
