Random stuff from the workplace taken with the 70-200mm f2.8.

There are 6 satellite dishes in front of the facility. Take a stab at how many are used for facility business. ZERO, they are all for inmate entertainment.

We are not alllowed to run out of water. In the event of a power outage there are backup generators for each building. Ironically, our internet comes from a parabolic dish facing southeast. The one that you can see if facing northeast-ish.

This is in the "backyard". This is where we go to requalify for our pepper spray certification. Unless you are one of the lucky ones that are immune to Oleoresin Capsicum, the name of this shed totally fits.

I am amazed you were allowed to take photos on the prison grounds.
While visiting my late wife's son in a med.security facility in Missouri I had left a camera on the back seat of her car in the visitors parking lot, when we returned to the car we were greeted with a warning on the windshield about the camera.

"When we returned to the car we were greeted with a warning on the windshield about the camera." Warnings and laws often conflict... laws and correct law often conflict. But from the practical standpoint easier to comply.

Decades ago Archetcual Digest did a feature on the Atlanta Federal Prison for [politicians etc] white color crimes. It was a luxury hotel... They did not however show Satalight TV antennas, because they did not exist!

I find the Watertower photo interesting... oddly this one is not rusty like most...

Right you are. I worked in Federal Prisons, cameras and cell phones were to very forbidden items inside the fences or walls. The only cameras permitted were the video and still cameras for videoing disruptions by the inmates or to support staff actions, and taking their "mug shots."

I get the concern but in this environment, anyone who has been here for a while knows me and my only hobby but if the truth be known, my job title may be C/O (Correctional Officer) but where I work is Master Control. This gives me a unique perspective on where the cameras point. I am not allowed to bring in a phone or camera, but the parking lot is a quasi-public place. Different rules maybe. It might also depend on if it's a State or Federal facility.

As for the "House of Tears", that was taken from a public road, it just looks closer that it is. Thank God for zooms. lol

They keep this one in pretty good shape as it waters the prison as well as the town of Olney Springs where the facility is located.

I liked it to but don't be fooled by all of that pretty blue sky.

Under the heading of unauthorized use of company equipment, I offer you Mr. Bill.

For a while they were giving us Olympus TG-860's to do our escorts and such. For a point and shoot, they took damn good video and the macro function was no slouch either. Without further ado, here is Mr. Bill.
