The figures were taken at our local pirate festival - you've seen the main character in a slightly different pose previously as he strolled along the prom. The ship is in Charlestown, UK and you've seen her too. The base background is done with a cloud brush, picking colours from the subject and the orb shapes are a texture/light layer taken inside our car - they're oof highlights off the dash or steering wheel I think. Over the lot is another texture layer consisting a shot of a roller blind. It's good to have Piet Franke commenting again in our section (as well as contributing images of course). He prodded me into thinking of adding texture in my last post, which started me on this one. Any critique is welcome and appreciated.

The orbs are fabulous, as is the faint silhouette of the ship. The pirate's facial expression, pose and richly detailed clothing are engaging. The saturated dark colors of the bottom contrast superbly with the light and bright upper area. I am truly in love with this one, Dave!

Thanks Linda. I liked this guy for his slightly downbeat look, not all pirates are Jack Sparrow after all! Of course we did get a couple of JS lookalikes, maybe I’ll do something with one of those. The effort everyone makes with their outfits never fails to amaze me.
