I need to wash moss/mildew from the North wall of our garage. I sprayed a homebrew cleaner (bleach, Dawn, water) on the bottom two-thirds and it worked well. Unfortunately it could not reach the peak. The pump-up sprayer I have only reaches to about 16 feet. I need an afordable sprayer or commercial cleaner that comes in a bottle/jug that connects to a hose. Because of old age issues I can no longer scale the roof and spary downwards or climb a ladder.
Have any of you had any positive experience with Wet & Forget or some other connect-to-hose type sprayer/cleaners? I am most concerned with refilling the jug with my homebrew, so reusing the jug is important.
Thanks in advance.

My neighbor uses one of those wet and forget products and has been very satisfied with the results. I don't know how far the sprayer will reach but the houses she treats are all single story and she hasn't had an issue with the stream reaching the top. (She takes care of her house, her mom's and a rental property).
Best of luck and please be careful to not put yourself into a situation where you could get hurt; it's not worth it.

Thanks for all the replies and advice. I am still researching - the crud isn't going away on its own...

Don't spray upwards with high pressure, you can unlock the panels. I was a General Contractor for more than 40 years and have fixed my share of siding FUPA's due to pressure washing. Get up high or hire someone (that doesn't spray up) and spray down the was siding was designed to ward off water.

That is how I used to do it. Unfortunately old age has taken its toll on the eighth wonder of the world, my body. ;-)

I’ve used several Home Depot products on my vinyl siding and they work well. Although they all say to just spray and rinse, I use a brush on a long extension pole to do a very light scrubbing. Just be careful of foundation plantings; some products use bleach while others are plant safe.

I use and endorse Wet and Forget outdoor products, they work on everything from tombstones to vinyl siding.
While many products will seriously damage tombstones. I have very successfully used Wet & Forget on our family tombstones with dramatic results.
Whatever you use it on make sure that it is dry, saturate the target, and walk away and rain will take care of the rest.
We treat the family tombstones twice a year to keep the lichens and moss at bay.
Follow the instructions and do not think that making it stronger will make it work better or faster.
Do not expect it to work overnight on heavily soiled areas. It will take several applications over a period of time to work.
However, when it starts to work the results will be dramatic.
Finally, Costco usually carries this in the gardening section in the spring for a competitive price or you may get it at:

Absolutely correct. I was preparing a house for sale and one of the workmen stood on the ground and sprayed up to the 2nd floor with a power washer. The next morning when I went over to inspect before listing the property, the downstairs bath ceiling was coming down. Big mess.

I hate to be a party pooper regarding "Wet and Forget". A neighbor recommended it to me. I sprayed one section of driveway with very poor results. Supposedly it works over time with the rain etc. NOPE, it did not. I still have half a bottle in the garage collection dust I was so disappointed. Perhaps it works on house siding better than driveways.

I really don't care about the solution; I wanted a bottle/sprayer in which I can use my home-brew of water, bleach and Dawn. My daughter told me that she will research and procure a sprayer for Father's Day. I just wanted a simple solution for my solution. ;-)

They make what is called an xjet. It fits on the end of a pressure washer. It also injects the soap or home brew. Lol. I don't know what they cost now but I bought mine for 40 dollars several years ago. Works great and shoots 85 ft. I used it for cleaning roofs from the ground.
