We had a 1954 DeSoto that I referred to as the "Blue Bomber." It was plenty fast--faster than my friend's 57 Chevy. I would have preferred to drive the Chevy, however.

Was the old DeSoto a FireDome hemi? When I was a lad, my dad replaced the worn out six in our Dodge farm truck with a FireDome. My brothers and I thought that was pretty cool.
