Gorgeous if I remember correctly weird clutch, oil immersed, friction disk face not asbestos as used then but cork discs like cut off a wine bottle cork. Do not know why.

Looks like it’s totally original. Hudsons and Mercs from those years were about the sleekest looking cars produced at the time. Nice shot of a classic!

Very nice. My uncle had a black one just like that. I'm glad that so many of these old cars are being maintained.

When I saw your title, three things came to mind: Hudson River, Hudson Henry (photographer), and Hudson car.

Beautiful Car! Great image
The"Wet" clutch was a lot smoother and somewhat easier for people to learn to drive (Supposedly) I pulled a loaded 4 horse trailer with one (my bosses), he had the clutch replaced once a year, the trouble he had was finding a mechanic that would work on it. Yes that was a lot of weight for any car to pull but they didn't have extended cab trucks at that time.
