This morning (May 30) observed this American Robin (female) collecting fresh mud from the base of the water bath. The mud will be used to construct the nest. Actually, there was some “in fighting” around the mud by various other robins in competition for the mud.

Just photographed a Stellar’s Jay collecting nest materials in the same manner.
