I've never heard of topping a saguaro, and I've spent a fair amount of time in Arizona, though not as a landscaper. Is this a common thing? A Walgreens thing? Whatever it is, it made for a lovely display which you caught with your usual flair.

Actually, no. It's an odd thing. But for some reason I'm seeing more and more. Sometimes it's like topping trees under power lines. But I didn't see any power lines.

There are some saguaros along the road in front of the Walgreen's store near me. They have topped them, so they're putting out new arms near where they were cut. Because of all the rain we've had, they are very fat. And they are blooming profusely! Thought I'd share. Shot with R3, of course!
