Having traveled all over Europe, I find that Florence has a collection of some of the most outstanding art. If you travel to Italy and enjoy art, Florence is a "must visit" city.

Have you been there Mel?
Yes. Just a few years ago. But no photography was allowed.

Years ago while buying my ticket to get into the Medici Chapel I asked to see these drawings. The cashier wrote something on the back of the ticket and told me go to a certain room and stand near a particular sculpture at 10:20.
I did so and right on time a fella came out of a hard to see door and took us into a small room with a ladder down to the basement room containing the pix. He told us we had twenty minutes and to enjoy ourselves. It was certainly a worthwhile experience.
All of the drawings were protected behind plexiglas panels. I guess this was to discourage frustrated Photoshoppers from damaging or "improving" them.
