HAS THE CANON EOS R1 BEEN SPOTTED AT G7 JAPAN?

It seems that during the G7 in Japan a Canon camera was used that no one can identify. So why not suggest it could be the Canon EOS R1?

The heat started on Twitter, where some users posted images of the mysterious camera.

Here is a video where the photos were captured from.

Using a previously unseen Canon camera.
Not really relevant who is using it but the camera is very interesting.

Most of those reporting now say it likely IS NOT an R1. Fake news
But I guess it is fun to speculate, since Canon and Canon fanboys have been milking the coming of the "almighty" R1 for years now, LOL

Cheers and best to you.

Regardless of who is using it, it appears to be a video news team camera.

May be it's the R1 as Canon has dropped the price the R3 by $500 to $5500.

I admit that this is a rumor but there is no Canon camera like this especially with the pro large form factor.
They have no video cameras with vertical grips like other pro cameras have as well.
Just doesn't have the overall form factor of a video camera.
But who knows, nothing official.

While we're on this subject — can anyone straighten me out on the numbering sequence for Canon R Series cameras? Maybe I've been asleep at the switch, but I see no logic in the numbers vis a vis the cameras with respect to features, FF vs crop, $, resolution, etc.

Is one necessary?
1 series are flagship.
3 series are next down
5 series are pro level but not as rugged (Nikon D850/Z8 Equivalent)
6 series are consumer level
All above are FF.
7 series are near pro level APSC.
8 Series is new to the R and is FF.
10 and 50 are middle APSC similar to the double digit EF camera series.
And the new 100 is a beginner APSC similar to the Rebel series.

Yes the numbering system started out did make sense. Only after a while when they run out of number then it doesn't make too much sense any more.

I question "All above are FF". My T4i is also known as a 650D. If that puts it into the "6 Series" — which I suspect, as it is certainly considered a consumer level camera — then I note that it is an APS-C....crop frame.
