I just don't have enough room to take her! She'll miss me, though. I leave tomorrow morning for a 23-day bucket-list-60th-birthday trip to Jordan and Egypt. I got my phone, camera and about a million year old tablet, slthough considering leaving the tab at home.

I have a 32, a 64 and a 128 with me. Think that will be enough? I might do RAW+JPG if I feel I have enough space. I suppose, theoretically, I can find a store (like a Walmart-type place) in country to buy an extra card...or I could just buy another one today when I go grocery shopping.

I have a hard wallet that fits in my back pocket and holds 8 cards, plus one in the chamber.

Thanks :) I plan on being on the Metrolink to STL by 0600. I have a nearly 5 hour layover in Chicago, though which I'm not happy about, but that's how I was routed. Then it's off to Vienna, change planes again, and finally, Amman for the start of the adventure...better than originally though. Different airlines and I would have had a 16-hour non-stop flight from Qatar to Dallas on the way home. This time I go through Munich for a much shorter trip.

Have fun and take plenty of pics! Yes, you should have at least two additional cards, in case one goes belly up. A suggestion, try using packing cubes for your clothing. I was skeptical about using them initially but now I wouldn’t travel without using them. Bon voyage!

Yes. Get extra cards, especially if you shoot in raw. When I travel I change my raw card every couple days. I don’t want to put all my eggs in one basket.
We loved Egypt. When we went my wife’s time off was limited so we did not continue on to Jordan although the rest of the family did. We were in Egypt shortly before the uprising back in 2009-10.
I had a bridge camera that did not shoot raw images. Even though the cards did not fill up with jpegs I changed the card every couple days.
