Going Paperless

This is funny! I just got an email from Citibank saying, "Attention requested: We noticed you're not Paperless." Are they kidding?! They send me advertising mail every day, and sometimes, I get two pieces of mail from them in one day. My CC statements used to be paperless, but I switched back to paper. Let them pay the postage. if they can afford to send me six or more pieces of paper mail every week, they can send me a paper statement. The nerve!

I went paperless because our USPS service is unreliable. Now I don’t have to worry about my bills getting lost.

I check the USPS digest every day and, yes, there have been pieces of mail that were not delivered. I do report them as missing but none have turned up.

Have you called Citibank to see if they will stop sending you all the advertising?

Just stuff all of the advertising and offers back into the included postage paid business reply envelope and mail it back to them. I also give them a bonus and include junk coupons and anonymous pieces of mail to be sure that the reply envelopes' capacity is maximized and the weight is as hefty as possible to give the recipient a maximum return on their solicitation efforts.

USPS is fine here. It's UPS that sends drivers who can't read house numbers. Several times a month, I have to deliver packages to my neighbors. There is a different driver every day.

The thing about going paperless that really gets on my nerves is the constant push to go paperless makes life easier and probably saves the CC companies something like $5.00 per client/per month. And they pass none of that savings on to us. But we still have to keep records that the IRS can review...usually paper that we have to print at home if we're ever audited. So I simply refuse to go paperless. Let them pay for the printing and postage.

Yet, I still get mail from Citibank every day!

Another concern is "Technical Difficulties - Try Later." That has been happening more and more often.

Just as bad as Spectrum. I get a package every month with my bill. 1 page for my bill, and 5 more pages for ads and terms. What ever happened to saving trees?

They keep trying to get me to go paperless, but my wife refuses to learn the computer so if something happens to me she will still get the paper invoice. Also, I quit sending in the payment because our post office is so unreliable, I pay at a local Citibank.

What I especially "like" are the surveys I receive every time I spend any money at various local establishments. I think it must be the same company running the surveys because they always start with the same question which is "How likely would you be to recommend [name of businss] to someone else followed by 0 through 10 with 10 being I would absolutely recommend the place. I always answer "0". Then the next thing they ask is Why did I answer as I did. My reply is that I do not want to have others subjected to these annoying surveys that they are inflicting on me. My wife says I should hit the delete key. Perhaps, but just getting them is annoying. Its like being bit to death by ducks.

I hate those surveys. And, yes, they are generally from a survey company. When I finish a survey for something I bought, another survey will pop-up.
