This tune was my introduction to Lee Morgan as a young pre-teen and I remember as clearly as day the first time I heard it. I didn't know what 24-bar blues was then, but I sure dug the form. This tune was a very successful commercial venture I'm assuming because of its very catchy head. A truly fine talent tragically having left us at a very young age. Thanks for the memories.

Me too!! I have the vinyl and the CD of "Sidewinder". The vinyl was played too many times. His death was a tragic loss to the jazz world.

Yup, mine too. I was fortunate to catch him in person in NYC. What a tragic loss.
